The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program supports the acquisition, development, and protection of natural areas and outdoor recreation facilities across America. Managed in Colorado by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) for the National Park Service (NPS), the program protects the state's natural resources and provides recreation opportunities for current and future generations.
Eligible applicants include local, county, state, or tribal government agencies in Colorado that own and manage the project land and can match the grant request 1:1. Project types include land acquisition, or site development for outdoor recreation, or a combination of both.
CPW is now accepting applications for the 2025 cycle. Applicants must submit documents under two separate stages to be eligible for consideration:
- September 3, 2024 (5pm) – Pre-application due
- October 1, 2024 (5pm) – Full application due
